Do you remember what you said in the multiverse?
It was my dad’s 75th birthday a few days ago. We went for a hike at a preserve at the southwestern tip of Deer Isle, accompanied by stories of every time he’s almost died.
The last time I wrote, I had just met Cheryl at the pond. (It turns out her name is spelled with a "C," not an "S.") I ran into her again on my last swim of the season, in early September (the month I neglected to write a post in, sorry, maybe I'll write two this month). When I emerged from the water, she introduced me to her daughter as a long-distance swimmer. “Like us,” she said. I was chuffed, as I had just swum out further and longer than I ever had before, but had never imagined myself a long-distance swimmer.
